Lab operating system

From scan to invoice,
one system.

Orbit runs the whole dental lab — case intake, design, milling, finishing, shipping, and the money that follows. No spreadsheet between stations, no case anyone has to go look for.

The case is on paper

A traveler follows the box around the lab. When someone wants to know where a case is, somebody walks the floor to find it.

The numbers are somewhere else

Inventory in a spreadsheet, pricing in a second one, invoices in accounting software that has never heard of a crown.

Every handoff is a retype

And every retype is a chance to bill the wrong thing, remake the wrong unit, or lose a day nobody can account for.

The floor

One case, eight stations, nothing retyped.

A case enters once and carries everything with it — the scan, the doctor, the shade, the material, the price, the due date. Every station adds to the same record.

01

Intake

Scans arrive from 3Shape or an upload. Orbit reads the filename, matches it to the doctor and patient, and issues a case number.

02

Design

A design queue with classification, STL preview and outsourcing — so you know what's in-house and what went out.

03

Nest & mill

Milling queue, mill jobs, disc tracking and tool life. What's on which puck, and how much of it is left.

04

Print & sinter

Print runs, build trays, resin lots and sinter runs — batched work tracked as batches, not as a pile of separate cases.

05

Finish

Workflow steps you configure per product. Your process, your station names, your sequence — not a vendor's idea of one.

06

QC

Review and crown-verify queues, remake attribution, and a record of who touched what before it left the building.

07

Ship

Scan into a bin, bins onto a rack, rack out the door. Carrier labels and address validation built in.

08

Invoice

Priced as it's made, not reconstructed at month end. Invoices, statements and card payments come out the other side.

Modules

Everything the lab already does, in one place.

Not a case tracker with add-ons. The production floor, the stockroom and the ledger are the same system, so the numbers agree by construction.

Doctor portal

Your doctors stop calling to ask where the case is.

A portal for the practices you work with — the same data your floor sees, filtered to what's theirs. Fewer phone calls, faster payment.

Track every case from received to shipped, with the courier tracking number when it's out.
See and pay invoices by card or ACH, with statements they can pull themselves.
Request a pickup and message the lab about a specific case, on the case.
Invite their own staff so the office manager isn't a bottleneck.

Reporting

Answers that come from the floor, not from a rebuild.

Because production and billing are the same system, the reports read the same records the techs created. Schedule any of them to land in your inbox.

Integrations

Connected to what you already run.

Orbit talks to the systems around it, so a scan, a material order or a payment doesn't need a human to carry it across.

Third-party names are shown to describe interoperability. They do not imply endorsement or partnership.
